Sukhumvit Soi 26

We found this street stall across from the Four Wings Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 26, next door to the 7-11. The atmosphere was standard (plastic stools and metal tables), but it was under an overhang so there was good shade. Here's what we ate. If you know the Thai name of the dish please post it for other readers in the comment section. We're new to Thailand!

This fried fish had very few bones. The flesh was tender and mild. The crisp skin was slightly salty. The sauce consisted of bitter ground chillis with a hint of sourness and sweetness, probably from tamarind pulp.

Verdict: T= Tasty, but wish it was meatier/ J= Simple and tasty. The sauce could have had more punch.

This chicken thigh and leg was fried so crisply that the lightly battered skin developed a sweet caramelized taste. The flesh was moist and juicy for a luke warm piece of chicken. The taste was reminiscent of Fried Chicken that J has eaten in Texas.

Verdict: T = Deliciously moist meat!/ J= Awesome! I loved the skin!

This unidentified dish was in a pot next to the fried chicken and had been cooked in bulk earlier in the day. It had chicken hearts and other innards. The sauce was medium spicy, slightly salty, and rich. The dominant flavor was Thai basil.

Verdict: T= Mystery meat never tasted so good / J= Okay, but lacked complexity (the diced monkey anus was tasty though!)
